The program trains in-service teachers to become early childhood and kindergarten teachers. WE-CARE did four years of ECD/ECE piloting in four public schools, which has resulted in the signing of a contract with the Ministry of Education and the World Bank for a one-year ECD contract to train 700 teachers in six counties in southeastern Liberia.

WE-CARE did four years of ECD/ECE piloting in four public schools which have resulted in the signing of a contract with the Ministry of Education and the World Bank, to do a one year ECD contract to train 700 teachers in six counties in the South East( Grand Kru, River Gee, Maryland, Sinoe, Grand Gedeh, and Bomi).

A New development WE-CARE is pursuing and has presented a proposal, is to incorporate the Family Literacy Program(FLI) and ECD under one program which will be called "Nurturing Care". The proposal has been approved to begin initially as a pilot.
